County Hall

Wetzlar, Germany

With its figure, the design aims to calm and repair the heterogeneous urban environment. To this end, it integrates the existing buildings in an adequate manner. Together with the existing buildings, the extension and parking garage form an urban ensemble around a plaza in front of the future entrance to the district hall. The extension, the parking garage and the receding head of the existing building form the spatial edges of this square. From there, the extension follows the street edges and integrates the building of the savings bank into its contour.
